SNOHOMISH, Wash. — Head to Stocker Farms in Snohomish County and you’ll find a pumpkin patch, a play area and the always classic corn maze.
However, this year – in addition to the traditional fall staples -- the farm is also celebrating 16 community heroes who were nominated by their peers.
“As our guests come out and enjoy the farm in the fall, they’re also learning about the people around them making life a just a little bit better for us," Keith Stocker told KIRO 7's Joanna Small.
One such hero being honored is 90-year-old Dick Rodland – a longtime teacher and basketball coach.
“We have both officiated basketball for a number of years. He said I was a much better official than I was a player – in a kind way. Dick was never unkind,” longtime friend, and former student, Ernie Gorshan Small.
