Snow creates tough driving conditions

Snowfall in the South Sound is creating tough traffic conditions for drivers along Interstate 5.

KIRO 7 PinPoint Meteorologist Nick Allard says the majority of the moisture will stay south, but flurries or very light snow showers are possible north, even into Seattle, Tuesday afternoon.

Weather summary

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday from about Olympia south. Cities such as Yelm, Centralia, Rainier, Lacey and Tumwater could all see trace amounts to about 3 inches of snow.

Highs will stay cool in the upper-30s.

Looking forward

Wednesday will start dry, but some moisture will drop south in the afternoon and evening, increasing the chance for some more light snow or wet snow showers, again, even into Seattle.

Thursday looks like a mainly dry day but there will be some more moisture with breezy conditions Friday and into the weekend. That will mean more snow or wet snow and rain showers with some breezy conditions.

Below are some photos and incidents that happened throughout Tuesday.
