WESTERN WASHINGTON — It’s a Pinpoint Alert Day for Thursday morning for some slush, especially in western Kitsap and south and west of Puget Sound.
The forecast for any accumulating snow is very tricky, but the Winter Weather Advisory areas of western Kitsap County south through the south interior and around Shelton to near the coast look good, with slushy wet snow accumulations of mainly three inches or less and much of that only staying around on grassy surfaces into the morning. However, there will be some slick spots especially on higher hills and from Shelton around Hood Canal.

Some of the communities where we could see snow accumulating on roads, if briefly include: Shelton, Olympia, Elma, Chehalis, Centralia, Tenino, Yelm, Hoodsport, and Seabeck.
For the remainder of Puget Sound from about King County south (and mainly east of the water and I-5), we will have some wet snow mixing in with rain at times, but for the most part, we’ll see just wet roads into Thursday morning. There will be some spotty areas of slush on car roofs and grassy surfaces.
By mid-morning, temperatures are rising and we’ll see more melting though some rain showers will stick around.

In the mountains, more than a foot of snow could fall around Paradise, White Pass, and Crystal Mountain tonight through midday Thursday. Farther north, Stevens and Snoqualmie Passes will likely receive very little snow, due to the easterly dry winds, though we could have an inch or two through the passes.
It’ll be milder into Friday and the weekend with highs in the 50s in Seattle with a slight chance of rain most days but most likely Sunday morning. Precipitation will be light.
