BELLEVUE, Wash. — Thousands came out Friday night for the return of Bellevue’s Snowflake Lane.
Last year, the nightly holiday celebration was canceled due to the pandemic.
This makes it the 17th year for the nightly parade and there were lots of lights and sights as people lined the parade route, wearing masks.
Security was also a major emphasis after last Sunday’s deadly parade in Wisconsin.
Organizers gave details earlier this week on how they planned to use police, barricades and barriers to keep the route safe.
Box trucks, loaded with cement, will be put in place each night to block vehicles from entering the route, KIRO 7 found out.
The show, complete with convincing snowfall, starts at 7 p.m. every night, running until Christmas Eve.
One down, 28 nights to go! #SnowflakeLane was a huge success. Officers handled traffic, safety & even managed to hand out a few candy canes! #HappyHolidays #SafeHolidays pic.twitter.com/AaqgQcFMm7
