EVERETT, Wash. — A pair of north line Sounder trains was delayed after a Sounder train in Everett hit a luggage wagon, according to Everett fire officials.
Sound Transit sent out a bulletin about 6:12 p.m., saying trains 1704 and 1706 were delayed in Mukilteo. The incident happened before 6 p.m.
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe official says a baggage cart being towed by a golf cart was struck by a train, which tried to stop, but both flipped.
The delay was due to a luggage truck being hit, Sound Transit officials say.
An employee was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials with Sound Transit later tweeted the north line trains were back on the move again.
UPDATE: Sounder north line train #1704 (5:05 p.m. Seattle dep) at Everett Station now, and #1706 (5:35 p.m. Seattle dep) will arrive at Everett Station soon.
