SEATTLE — Two people were arrested and four officers were injured Saturday afternoon at Cal Anderson Park, according to a blotter post.
Police said they responded around 4:30 p.m. to reports of a man breaking windows near 11th Avenue and East Olive Street.
Officers responded and found the man in the park. When officers tried to talk to him, a crowd surrounded them as they took the suspect out of the park, according to a blotter post.
Police said the suspect then collapsed on the ground. Medical aid was brought to the scene.
While medics were assisting the man, a different man, who police said they knew, began "assaulting officers and inciting the crowd," the blotter post said.
The blotter then said the crowd "converged" on the officers, and they requested backup.
Eventually the 28-year-old man who originally collapsed was taken to Harborview. He was later booked into King County Jail.
A 35-year-old man was also arrested for assaulting an officer and booked for investigation of assault.
SPD says four officers were assaulted in total.
