SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department released surveillance video Wednesday in hopes of solving a fatal stabbing that happened in June 2018 on Alki Beach.
Investigators released the graphic video that shows a 20-year-old who was stabbed during a confrontation.
Investigators said witnesses saw the man, along with a friend, acting aggressively, confrontational and belligerent toward others the night of June 2.
Officials also said about 10 p.m., the victim encountered another man and then an argument started and then a fight ensued. The man stabbed the victim in the neck with a large knife, investigators said.
The man who stabbed the victim ran away into the West Seattle neighborhood, police said.
Officers who were called to the scene started CPR on the 20-year-old, but he died, officials said.

On the night of the stabbing, investigators collected evidence, talked with witnesses, went over body-worn camera video and surveillance video, Seattle police spokesman Patrick Michaud told KIRO 7.
Now investigators are hoping the released surveillance video will help in finding a suspect and also spark someone’s memory, helping to solve the case.
In a message to the suspect, Seattle police said "we have your DNA," and asked the man to contact them, saying the case will never go away.
