SNOHOMISH, Wash. — State Route 2 in Snohomish was fully blocked Tuesday morning for a high-speed fatal head-on collision involving two cars.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the multi-fatality collision included the drivers of both cars. They say there are no other occupants to report at this time.
First responders from Snohomish Fire District #4, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue, and Everett Fire were dispatched to the collision, which happened on SR-2 near milepost 6, around 6:30 a.m.
WSP troopers set up detours throughout the morning while they investigated the collision.
Drivers were asked to please avoid the area and drive cautiously. The roadway was reopened around 11 a.m.
UPDATE: US 2 is now closed in both directions between SR 9 and 88th St in Snohomish for a collision. Emergency responders are on scene assisting.
