OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Health announced Tuesday that it is reopening a statewide portal that allows residents to order COVID-19 rapid tests directly to their homes.
Washington state residents can go to sayyescovidhometest.org to order up to five free tests for members of their household.
The state opened the portal for the first time on Jan. 21 with 1.4 million tests available. Within eight hours, all available tests were claimed by approximately 340,000 households.

The portal was opened for a second time on Jan. 31 and an additional 130,000 households were able to receive tests.
As an additional 1.45 million tests are now available, DOH anticipates that an additional 290,000 households will now be able to order tests. Tests are expected to arrive within a few days of the order being placed.
Recipients will be able to order tests while supplies last. After tests are no longer available, the portal will close until more supplies are available.
People can still get COVID-19 tests through any of the following options:
- Order a free testing kit from the federal program at COVIDtests.gov.
- Purchase an at-home test at local retailers and pharmacies.
- If you have health insurance, most insurers will now directly cover or pay you back for up to eight at-home tests per month, for each person on your plan.
- Find a test at a testing location near you.
