According to the Washington Department of Transportation, a collision that blocked both directions of State Route 161 in Pierce County near Ohop Valley Road has sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to WSP Trooper Kameron Watts, the accident involved a single motorcycle that crashed in a ditch. Shortly before 3 pm crews finished their investigation of the scene, and traffic resumed, alternating in the southbound lanes.
Watts told KIRO 7 that an investigation into the collision is still underway.
The department does not have an estimate for when the highway will be cleared.
