When KIRO 7 got to the scene, the road was still flooded. Crews later reopened the roadway.
Everett's Fraternal Order of Eagles temporarily closed its doors after members were forced out of the nonprofit's Broadway building because of flooding caused by the heavy downpours.
Members of the nonprofit estimated the water 3 to 4 inches deep in places of the building and said, at the minimum, the flood-damaged floors will need to be replaced before they could reopen.
"We're going to be closed for maybe a short time, maybe a long time, we don't know," said Trustee Rex Martin. "This is going to cause some setbacks."
Kathleen Baxter with Everett Public Works said nearly 2 inches of rain fell in an hour from roughly 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday. Extra workers were called in to clear drains and respond to flood-related calls.
Martin said the club had to close for a month the last time it flooded nearly a decade ago.
Before 11 p.m. Monday, Everett school district officials said due to flooding from the rain storm, Everett High School would be closed Tuesday.
"Emergency crews are working to restore all impacted classrooms to full working order. Updates will be given as soon as more information is available," officials said in a tweet.
Maintenance crews worked late Monday night cleaning, and moved onto disinfecting and drying out the buildings Tuesday. Most of the water was removed overnight.
Five of the seven buildings suffered at least some damage in the lower levels of the buildings. In the gym, the wood floors didn't suffer damaged, although the locker rooms, weight room, storage rooms and hallways were affected. Some music rooms, first level classrooms and part of the theater plus the stage were also affected.
School officials announced on Tuesday afternoon that classes will resume at Everett High School on Wednesday.
