Surveillance video captures alarming Belltown baseball bat attack

SEATTLE — King County Prosecutors shared new video of an alarming attack in Seattle’s Belltown Neighborhood.

The video shows a man with a baseball bat swinging and hitting a woman walking down the street from behind, the unsuspecting victim clueless to what just occurred.

The attack happened last week near the 200 block of Cedar Street. The woman was rushed to the hospital with a skull fracture.

“People can’t get away with an attack like this,” says Casey McNerthney with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

He says the suspect is 41-year-old Wantez Tulloss and police were able to arrest him shortly after the attack.

Tulloss has had two previous felony convictions. The most recent was in 2013, but prosecutors say he’s also had 10 warrants for failing to appear in court.

“Someone like this is a danger to the community and this is somebody who we are argue should be held in jail,” says McNerthney.
