BLACK DIAMOND, Wash. — A suspect in a stolen truck with a poodle inside was shot and killed by King County deputies Monday afternoon, officials said.
The poodle, named Monkey, was not injured and was reunited with his owners.
The shooting happened around 12:15 p.m. in the 35200 block of Veazie Cumberland Road SE, southeast of Black Diamond.
The suspect driving the stolen Ford pickup truck died at the scene. Deputies were okay, according to the sheriff's office.

Ryan Abbott with the King County Sheriff's Office said that two detectives in plain clothes spotted the stolen car with the dog inside. He said the suspect started ramming their vehicle with the stolen pickup truck, prompting an altercation. Officers then fired shots while the suspect was sitting in the car, killing him.
