EVERETT, Wash. — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car Friday in Everett.
Everett police said two people were walking in the 4600 block of South Third Avenue when a car struck one of two men on the side of the road about 4:20 p.m.
The victim, who was in his 50s or 60s, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Providence hospital, police said.
Police said the driver went down an embankment.
The driver remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under investigation.
