LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A person was critically injured in a collision on Highway 99 Wednesday morning, according to the Lynnwood Police Department.
Police were searching for a driver in a black Econoline van who was reportedly driving erratically when a collision was reported on Highway 99 near 200th Street Southwest.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the same Econoline van they were searching for had rear-ended a pickup truck at a high rate of speed.
After South County firefighters extricated the driver from his van, he was transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries.
The driver of the truck was not seriously injured.
Police say they suspect the driver of the van was impaired at the time of the crash.
Officers on scene also found evidence of narcotics inside his van.
