Suspected road rage ends with one car crashing into a fence, driver assaulted in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — Deputies are investigating a possible road rage case that ended with one car driving into a fence and the driver getting assaulted in Tacoma.

Around 3:20 p.m. on Friday, deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department answered a call about a car crashing into a fence at the intersection of 98 Street South and Ainsworth Avenue South in Tacoma.

When deputies arrived they found a car that had crashed into a fence of a house.

The 50-year-old driver told police that he was involved in a road rage incident and was forced off the road by the driver in the other car.

The driver said that the woman in the other car got out and yelled at him about insurance before assaulting him.

The driver said that a male between 17 and 19 years old showed up and also began assaulting him before they both got into the woman’s car and left.

A witness told police that they heard the crash and that they believed the person who crashed into the fence tried to leave the scene before he was assaulted.

Deputies said the man appeared to have injuries consistent with being assaulted.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue took the man to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies described one suspect as a 5-foot-4 black female, about 45 years old, 135 pounds, with long black hair and glasses. The other suspect is described as a black male, about 17-19 years old, with a cornrow hairstyle.
