LAKE TAPPS, Wash. — A woman was killed and a man was arrested after a shooting in Pierce County early Thursday.
At 1:13 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a call saying a woman had been accidentally shot in a neighborhood near South Tapps Drive East in Lake Tapps, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department
Investigators said at the time of the shooting, the 33-year-old victim was in a cul-de-sac with a 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman.
Deputies called to the home gave the woman first aid until medics arrived. She later died at the hospital.
The man and woman were detained by deputies and interviewed.
Detectives later arrested the 38-year-old man.
He was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
