The incident began at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday with a domestic violence call. A victim at the deputy's apartment on Belmont Avenue was able to make it out with minor injuries.
The deputy, who has been with the department for 2.5 years, has been on paid administrative leave since March for an unrelated internal investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

SPD described the incident as a domestic violence suspect who was barricaded in an apartment building, and said in a tweet that the department would "not be confirming details about the suspect at this time."
Police set off flash-bangs so that the suspect would not fall asleep.
SPD said drivers should expect additional traffic or detours because of police activity in the area.
