TACOMA, Wash. — Billboard Magazine has ranked the Tacoma Dome among the top 20 venues worldwide in concert attendance.
The ranking, 20th in the world, is the highest in venue history. The Tacoma Dome came in 15th in the United States.
From Nov. 1, 2018, to Oct. 31, 2019, the Tacoma Dome had more than $45 million in gross ticket sales and an attendance of almost 600,000, Billboard says.
The Tacoma Dome recently completed a $31 million interior renovation in 2018. New seating and concessions were added alongside “back-of-the-house enhancement” to appeal to touring artists and their representatives.
“Exterior upgrades were recently completed including wood cladding, new lighting and signage, revitalizing the iconic Dome landmark,” a spokesperson for the Tacoma Dome wrote in a news release.
Pollstar, a trade publication for the concert industry, ranked the Tacoma Dome at 19th in the U.S. and 33rd in the world.
From Nov. 22, 2018, to Nov. 21, 2019, the Tacoma Dome had more than 550,000 in paid attendance with over $38 million in gross ticket sales, according to Pollstar.
