Teachers in Port Angeles reach tentative agreement with district

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — On Monday, the Port Angeles Education Association and the school district reached a tentative deal on a contract.

While the tentative agreement needs to be ratified, the district said classes will start on time Tuesday.

“We look forward to seeing your children in our schools again tomorrow and are grateful to move forward in this process,” the school district said in a Facebook post.

Teachers had asked for smaller class sizes at all levels to give students the individual attention they needed.

The Port Angeles Education Association is made up of 250 educators in Port Angeles public schools.
