MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — A teenager escaped major injuries after firefighters on Mercer Island pulled her out from under a car.
Crews were called to the scene around 1 a.m. at East Mercer Way Sunday.
It took firefighters close to two hours to lift the car and get the 16-year-old girl out.
She told first responders she was the passenger and had gotten out of the car when the driver started backing over an embankment.
That's when the car slipped, and she ended up getting pinned underneath.
Rescue crews say the girl appeared to have only minor injuries.
The driver, also 16-years-old, was arrested for investigation of DUI.
