THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol is investigating a head-on crash that killed a 17-year-old boy on northbound I-5 just south of the Nisqually River Bridge.
It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers say the 17-year-old driver was traveling southbound on northbound I-5 when he hit another car head-on. He died at the scene.
The passenger and driver in the other car – a man and a woman -- were seriously injured.
Troopers say drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
