Texas man accused of vandalizing Leavenworth’s Gazebo Park

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — A man from Texas is accused of vandalizing Leavenworth’s Gazebo Park.

On Friday, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office sent out a picture of Zachary Soltis, a Texas man accused of vandalizing Leavenworth’s Gazebo Park, saying they have probable cause to arrest him for the crime.

Solis is accused of driving a truck through the park over the weekend, causing excessive damage, and then driving away.

There is a video of the incident circulating on Facebook that has thousands of views. It shows a large Toyota truck doing donuts and kicking up mud and dirt in the park. The driver of the truck also got close to two people, nearly kicking up mud onto them and forcing them to run from the moving vehicle.

The damage was so extensive that the city had to shut it down temporarily.

“Thanks to the Patrol Deputies’ tireless efforts, and with help from our citizens and visitors, the suspect has been identified,” the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The department is currently working with the Chelan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to file charges against him.
