A stretch of southbound Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle will be closed Friday night for maintenance work, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced.
Starting Friday at 9 p.m. through Saturday at 6 a.m., southbound I-5 between Stewart Street and Spring Street will be closed. Individual lane closures will begin at 9 p.m., with the roadway fully closing at 11 p.m.
The Mercer Street, Howell Street and Yale Avenue on-ramps to southbound I-5 will also be closed during this time.
In addition, crews will continue the Revive I-5 project along southbound I-5. Starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday, southbound I-5 between the I-90 interchange and the Spokane Street exit will be reduced to two lanes, with all traffic going through the collector/distributor.
Late Saturday night, WSDOT crews will also close two lanes of northbound I-5 from the State Route 520 off-ramp to Northeast 45th Street to perform bridge deck repair work on the Ship Canal Bridge. All lanes will reopen by Sunday at 7 a.m., WSDOT said.
