Tip leads police to wanted man hiding at Auburn apartment complex

Auburn arrest

AUBURN, Wash. — The Auburn Police Department recently arrested a man wanted for multiple felonies, who was living at the Seasons at Lea Hill apartment.

It was all thanks to a tip about where he was living.

On Dec. 5, two officers were alerted of the man’s whereabouts. The pair ran a series of checks on the man’s car, confirming it was him.

The man was reportedly wanted for robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and a Department of Corrections felony warrant for escaping from custody.

The next day, the officers returned with backup – hoping to arrest the man. For three hours, Auburn police, and Valley SWAT team members watched the apartment where they believed the man was.

Around 12:20 p.m., police say the man left his apartment and was approached by Valley SWAT team members, who ordered him to lie down so they could detain and arrest him.

During the arrest, officers discovered a loaded gun in his possession. In addition to being wanted in King County, the department says the man was also sought by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Bottom of Form

The department shared video Tuesday of the moment the man was arrested:
