A train derailed Wednesday morning after it was hit by a semi-truck in Yakima County.
The derailment happened at the intersection of State Route 22 and Phillips Road, about two miles east of Mabton.
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office said that three engines and sevens cars of a BNSF container train derailed when it was hit by a semi-truck with a piece of farm equipment on it.
The train had a total of 116 containers.
There were no road closures and minimal injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said it would take several days to clean up.
On Tuesday, a BNSF Railway train that was carrying oil derailed, causing several cars to catch on fire in Whatcom County.
