A trail derailed in the 2100 block of Port of Tacoma Road on Tuesday afternoon, according to a Facebook post from Tacoma Fire.
Crews are on the scene as one of the locomotives made contact with a nearby power pole and knocked the power lines down.
Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
There are no reported injuries.
