A Tukwila Police K9 vehicle was struck for the second time in a week during a pursuit of a suspect, according to a police department statement.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 15000 block of 57th Ave South.
When officers arrived, the suspect attempted to drive away and struck the K9 vehicle.
The male driver then ran away, while a female passenger remained in the car.
A K9 unit and a drone were deployed, and the male suspect was located hiding in thick brush nearby.
According to police, the suspect gave officers a false name, and it was later discovered there was a domestic violence protection order between him and the female in the car.
A firearm was also found in the vehicle.
The suspect also claimed to have swallowed fentanyl in an attempt to avoid being taken to jail.
As a result, the jail refused to book him.
Because the suspect was facing charges of felony eluding, hit and run, order violations and weapons charges, an officer escorted him to the hospital for medical evaluation and clearance before booking.
