One adult and one child were killed in a collision involving a single motorhome pulling a trailer on westbound I-90 near Ellensburg on Monday afternoon. Additionally, three people -- one adult and two children -- were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Three other children and one adult are also in critical condition.
The road was fully blocked for a short period.
The Washington State Patrol says the crash happened when a tire on the motorhome blew out and lost control, left the road and struck the guard rail.
The vehicle then entered the median, continued down the embankment and came to rest in the creek that passes below I-90.
A 61-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl who were passengers in the RV died from their injuries.
