PORT ANGELES, Wash. — The three people whose bodies were found hidden on a Port Angeles property where they lived were identified Tuesday.
The victims were found by authorities after family members asked officers to do a welfare check.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were called to the home on Bear Meadow Road at about 4:15 p.m. Monday. Family members told police they hadn’t heard from their relatives since Christmas Day and were concerned.
Deputies found two bodies in the yard, covered with a tarp and various yard debris. They were identified as father and son Darrell C. Iverson, 57, and Jordan D. Iverson, 27.
The third victim, Tiffany A. May, 26, was Jordan Iverson's girlfriend.
All three victims had gunshot wounds.
Investigators are asking that people with information call 360-417-2540.
Darrell Iverson owned a log truck company, and neighbors say though he intentionally made himself look gruff in his Facebook profile picture, he was the opposite.
"He was a good guy, he had a good heart. He really did. And Jordan was a sweet kid, too," said next-door neighbor Steve Lovik.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, investigators said they had just received warrants to search the property and started to process the scene when they found the body of May locked in a shed. Detectives believe all three bodies may have been on the property since the day after Christmas.
"What's really been bothering me as a neighbor is knowing they'd been lying over there for a couple days. And that upsets me. I think good neighbors should know what's going on around each other, and I kind of feel like I failed there," said Lovik.
Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict said there were others living at the home as well.
"There were many trailers on the property that some transients and other people had lived in there, as well as in the house," said Benedict.
But the sheriff said none of those people were there when deputies first came to the house Monday afternoon and found the bodies of the Iversons.
They also found bullet casings everywhere.
Detectives are now searching for a motive and a murder weapon.
The Clallam County sheriff told neighbors the murders were not a random act --the killer knew the victims -- and that one else is in danger.
The Sheriff's Department is being assisted by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab and Port Angeles and Sequim police departments.
