Two hurt, one airlifted in Yelm shootout

YELM, Wash. — Two people were seriously hurt in a shootout in Yelm on Thursday night, with one requiring an airlift to a hospital for their injuries.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to assist Yelm Police Department officers with a shootout off Yelm Avenue West sometime before midnight.

Two people were shot and subsequently transported with serious injuries, with one requiring an airlift.

Sherrif Sanders with TCSO says that one of the cars involved has numerous reports of being associated with an armed drug dealer.

TCSO has called out detectives to assist with this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
