EVERETT, Wash. — Two people are dead after a wrong-way driver slammed into their vehicle Friday night.
The crash happened around midnight on southbound Interstate 5 near 60th Street Southwest.
The wrong-way driver, a 22-year-old man, was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of I-5 when he struck a silver Volkswagen head-on.
The two occupants of the Volkswagen were killed in the crash. They were both in their 60s.
The wrong-way driver was taken into custody for suspected DUI and vehicular homicide.
Troopers are continuing to investigate this incident.
