EVERETT, Wash. — Two men were arrested on Monday for robbing an Everett pot shop, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies believe a 19-year-old Des Moines man and a 19-year-old Seattle man robbed Marijuana Club 99 twice in February.

During the robberies, the suspects entered the store wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks and demanded money from the cashier. They also filled black trash bags with items in the shop before fleeing.

In one incident, the store owner chased them out with bear repellent spray.

“That is the first time I’ve shot bear spray. I’ve done pepper spray before, but (bear spray) is a whole new level of hurt,” said Chris Vincent.

The owners said their shop has been robbed four times.

Detectives said they believe the two men are also involved in the Sept. 17 Marijuana Club 99 robbery, the Sept. 25 High Society Marijuana Shop robbery in Everett and several other robberies in Snohomish County.

Detectives said evidence was gathered from surveillance footage, social media accounts, cell phones, DNA left at the scene and various cellular, social media and technology companies.

The men are in the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of two counts of first-degree robbery.

Detectives said they expect additional charges to be filed for both suspects.
