Two restaurants in Renton off 43rd Street were damaged Tuesday morning.

Mohamed Eljedawy, owner of Momo’s Kebab, said at around 4 a.m., he got a call from his alarm company, notifying him that something was happening at the restaurant.

“I show up. There was four, five cops ... here already, and I found out my door was broken, and his door was broken as well,” said Eljedawy.

Eljedawy shared this surveillance footage with KIRO 7. You can see a truck backing up into the restaurant and breaking the front doors, before taking off.

“No nothing, no money, I’m not leaving any money inside,” said Eljedawy.

Next door, Yummy Kitchen was also damaged.

Eljedawy said he opened his restaurant at the beginning of the year, but he was forced to close for 22 days in April after someone broke in and stole the register. He said he had to order a brand-new payment system.

“I just got so angry, I cannot do anything. I’m hoping the cops get him you know, that’s what I’m hoping,” said Eljedawy.

Renton police said the truck is an older model red Ford F-150, with a unique canopy, duct tape around the tailgate, and no license plate.

Nothing was taken from both businesses, but the owner of Momo’s Kebab said he doesn’t know when the restaurant will reopen.
