Planning a trip to the mountains but don’t have a car? Uber recently expanded its Uber Ski service, which gives people rides to the slopes.
Skiers and snowboarders in 23 U.S. markets, including Pacific Northwest cities Seattle and Portland, will now see an Uber Ski icon when they open the app.
The service allows people to request a vehicle that has either a ski rack attached or a truck bed and can handle driving in icy conditions. Drivers can opt out of the service, but if they want to drive to the mountains they have to provide photographic evidence their cars can handle the equipment and the ice.
The pricing is the same as UberX with the addition of a flat $8 fee, according to the company’s website.
