Wanted: 21-year-old man charged with Todd Beamer student's murder

21-year-old Shawn Cooke was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree murder for the shooting death of 17-year-old Cameron Wilson, a student at Todd Beamer High School, whose body was found in the parking lot of Domino's Pizza in Fife back in May.

"I can't even express my words how difficult that is for a mother to have to bury a 17-year-old son," said Rochelle Wilson, Cameron's mother. "Extremely tough."

A warrant was issued Monday for Cooke, a former Todd Beamer High School student.

"Turn yourself in, be a man," said Tyeisha Taylor, Wilson's sister. "I will never forgive him for what he did, ever."

Charging papers say Wilson reportedly stole "a large quantity" of marijuana from someone associated with Cooke earlier in 2019. Wilson's friends said Cooke told the teen to come to the Fife Domino's Pizza, where his body was found, to fight the person he had reportedly stolen the marijuana from, according to charging papers.

"They also reported one of the messages indicated that Cooke would bring a gun with him if Wilson would not meet up with Cooke and Cooke had to search him out," according to charging documents.

"I still have a lot of questions about the motive and even if it was behind marijuana, that does not warrant him being murdered, not at all," said Taylor.

Investigators say Cooke is the registered owner of a Chrysler Sebring with no front license plate that appears to match the car captured on surveillance video in the Domino's Pizza parking lot around the time of the murder on May 13, according to charging papers.

Two days later, charging papers state Cooke was stopped and detained by a deputy in Cle Elum with his girlfriend. Cooke denied any knowledge of Wilson's murder but "admitted trying to set up a fight the night of the shooting between Wilson" and another person, according to prosecutors.

Charging papers say Cook, when asked about his car being at the murder scene, said "if my car was there, it was there, but I wasn't driving it." He claimed he was not driving his Sebring the day of the murder or the day before because "he lost his car, and his keys," and "had no idea where either the car or the key were."

Cooke was later released after being questioned by investigators.

Police obtained surveillance video from an apartment complex, however, that they said showed Cooke getting out of his Sebring after he claimed to have lost his car and keys, according to charging papers.
Fife police tell KIRO 7 they believe Cooke could be hiding in Federal Way, Tacoma or South Seattle.

"You stole from my family, how dare you," said Wilson. "You must pay."
