KING COUNTY, Wash. — A warrant has been issued for a man accused of assaulting an Alaska Airlines gate agent over a face mask requirement.
Prosecutors said Mark Alan Hicks was told to wear a mask last August at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
They said he returned with a mask but was too intoxicated to fly by then.
Airport spokesman Perry Cooper watched the surveillance video last summer and walked KIRO 7 through what happened.
“Quite suddenly, the gentleman just decided to go through one of the people, a woman, and essentially walked right through her and over the top of her as she fell down onto the ground and tried to continue on through into the jetbridge,” Cooper said.
The gate agent was knocked unconscious, injuring her shoulder.
Hicks was eventually released on bail but never showed up for his court appearance and now faces a warrant, the King County Sherriff’s Office confirmed.
