In an attempt to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, the state government announced Sunday that all state campgrounds will be closed through April 30.
No new campers will be allowed onto Washington State Parks and Recreation, Department of Fish and Wildlife or Department of Natural Resources land beginning March 23.

Current campers will be slowly phased out.
A press release said that day-use areas and trails will be open, but asked everyone to practice social distancing when outside. People are asked to avoid ocean beaches due to the high volume of people.
Campers who have reservations at state parks will be notified and offered a refund.
