District 1
Incumbent Suzan DelBene (D) has won Congressional District 1 over Jeb Brewer (R), according to the Associated Press.
She released the following statement:
“I’m incredibly honored to have earned the privilege to represent the people of Washington’s First Congressional District for another term. By focusing on results, not rhetoric, we can continue to make real progress to help everyone in the district. We must deliver on pocketbook issues like building more affordable housing, lowering costs, and strengthening Social Security and Medicare. We also have an important opportunity next year to protect reproductive freedom, fight for a fairer tax code, make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent, and build an economy where families and workers don’t just get by, but can get ahead. Now let’s get to work for our communities and our future.”
District 2
Incumbent Rick Larsen (D) has won Congressional District 2 over Cody Hart (R), according to the Associated Press.
He released the following statement:
“I am grateful for the support my campaign has received in the initial election results. There are many more ballots to be counted in Washington state, and I am confident that our election officials are fair and nonpartisan and that the final ballot count will be accurate.
Everyone who has taken the time to cast a ballot has strengthened our democracy and has my thanks. I also want to thank my staff and the volunteers who supported our campaign. Your hard work helped tens of thousands of people make informed decisions in this critical election.
Thank you also to my spouse, Tiia, for her constant support. My work for our community would not be possible without her.
And of course, thank you to all my supporters across the 2nd District. Representing my friends and neighbors in Congress is an honor I never take for granted. Regardless of what the final results of this election are, I know there is more work to be done - to protect reproductive freedom, to combat the opioid epidemic, and to keep the jobs engine going.
As results come in Washington state and across the country, I urge everyone to remain peaceful. It is the most essential promise of our democracy that the outcome of this election be determined by, and only by, the voters.”

We have a lot of work to do as a country to righten the course we are on. We need to lower the cost of living, tackle corporate greed, make our communities safer, and support the working class.
Just as crucially, we’ll need to find common ground with people we disagree with. We’ll need to improve the ways we handle political disagreements without resorting to extreme measures. I look forward to working on these challenges over the next two years. "
