Washington State Patrol seeks video of racing before deadly crash in Stanwood

STANWOOD, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says one person is dead and another is under arrest following a crash on Interstate 5 in Stanwood.

It happened Monday around 1 p.m.

Troopers say the driver of a silver Infinity sedan tried passing traffic on the left shoulder, lost control, and hit the trailer of a semi-truck.

Witnesses told detectives that the Infinity was racing a green Dodge Challenger shortly before the crash.

WSP is asking anyone who has in-car dash camera footage from the crash or from the racing beforehand to give them a call so they can review it.
