SEATTLE — Amazing video shows an installer with a high tolerance for heights putting in new equipment on top of Seattle’s most famous landmark.
Officials with the Space Needle said the man put on a harness on Friday and scaled the tower’s spire to install a new panoramic camera 605 feet up.
The upgraded Panocam has higher quality footage than the previous camera.
The feed will now be available 24 hours a day with clear 360-degree views at night for the first time.
The installer also put in a new lightning rod while he was “hanging around.”
Panocam footage can be seen at spaceneedle.com/panocam.
The upgraded Panocam was created by local production and design company Breedt.
