SEATTLE — KIRO 7 is excited to partner with Seafair to broadcast the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade.
The parade returns this summer for the first time since 2019 after being limited by the pandemic.
It celebrates the Pacific Northwest’s cultural diversity and traditions. With more than 100 entries, spectators should plan to be entertained from start to finish.
Be on the lookout for innovative floats, sonic-booming marching bands, precision drill teams, and swashbuckling pirates!
“We are so excited to gather for the first time, since 2019, and share in the traditions that make Western Washington such a special place to live. To have the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade back home on KIRO 7 and streaming live on KIRO7.com and the KIRO 7 News apps, is the perfect way to celebrate our community coming together again,” Pat Nevin, VP/General Manager for KIRO 7, said.
KIRO talked to Seafair CEO Eric Corning about the big event.
“We’re really excited to produce the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade this summer. With KIRO TV back on board to be able to share this with everybody in the community, it should be a great time,” said Corning.
The parade will start at Seattle Center, travel down Fourth Avenue, and end at Spring Street on Saturday, July 30 from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
KIRO 7 will bring you live coverage on TV, online and on the KIRO 7 smart TV apps starting at 7:30 p.m.
There will also be pre-parade activities for those who arrive early such as the iHeart Radio Block Party, the Running of the Queens, and the Seafair Torchlight Run.
The Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade is free but if you are looking for the best views you might want to consider purchasing a reserved seat in the Grandstands at Westlake Park or Roadside along Fourth Avenue.
