SEATTLE — The Washington Department of Transportation released a video Monday that shows the Alaskan Way Viaduct coming down in just six and a half minutes.
The video shows the work that has been ongoing since mid-February and is currently wrapping up -- the final column on the waterfront came down this past Saturday. There is still more demolition work to come but will not be along the waterfront.
Crews are still working to remove a big chunk of the Viaduct over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks between Pine and Lenora streets. That work is expected to continue through the fall.
