Crews are repairing a broken water pipe which flooded a West Seattle street and caused a sinkhole to form Monday night.
The Seattle Department of Transportation closed off 35th Avenue Southwest between Southwest Alaska Street and Southwest Avalon Way. All lanes were reopened by about 6 a.m.
Crews had to shut down a 4-inch water main on 35th and Avalon Way.
Officials said they'll be working to repair the broken pipe throughout the night. It is unknown what caused it to break.
There was also a partial road collapse that they believe stemmed from water coming from a manhole.
Drivers should take alternate routes.
