A wildfire near Chelan that grew to at least 1,200 acres is now 100% contained, according to the Washington State Department of Natural Resource.
The “Stayman Flats Fire” started around 4 p.m. on Monday, when officials said the fire had burned 35 acres, but had grown to 750 acres in just four hours.
Various levels of evacuation were ordered during the wildfire, including a level 3 where residents were asked to evacuate immediately along Downie Canyon Road and Hawks Ridge Road.
