Wildfires, dust close multiple state roads in Eastern Washington

Smoke and dust from wildfires have caused multiple collisions and triggered the closures of several state roads in Eastern Washington on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

The Washington State Department of Transportation issued an updated list of closures around 3 p.m. Monday. There is no estimated time for reopening.

The following areas are affected by closures, but more could be added throughout the day.

▪️ I-90 Grant County line to Ritzville

▪️ US 395 Ritzville to SR 26

▪️ US 2 from SR 172 to SR 17

▪️ SR 172

▪️ SR 17

▪️ US 2 west of Davenport to Teleford Rest Area

▪️ US 2 Airway Heights

▪️ US 395 from Ritzville to SR 26

▪️ US 97 Brewster to Omak

▪️ I-82 Prosser

▪️ SR 14 Paterson

▪️ SR 26 US 395 to Washtucna

▪️ SR 17 from US 2 to Bridgeport

▪️ SR 172 from US to SR 17

▪️ SR 261 from I-90 to Washtucna

▪️ SR 20 from US 395 to I-90

▪️ SR 20 near Colville

▪️ SR 23 St. John

▪️ SR 221 Paterson to Prosser

▪️ SR 28 Harrington

The Washington State Patrol is also asking drivers to stay away from affected areas.
