Woman arrested in Kent, accused of stabbing family member with kitchen knife

KENT, Wash. — A 29-year-old Renton woman was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of stabbing a family member with a kitchen knife.

It happened at an apartment complex in Kent on 72nd Avenue South just after 3:00 a.m.

The victim’s brother called 911 saying someone had hurt his sister.

When officers arrived, they say found some of the family members outside with blood on their clothing, some were intoxicated and uncooperative.

Witnesses stated that this was a family gathering and there had been arguing before the stabbing.

Police detained everyone until they could talk with the victim and find the person responsible.

After a few minutes of trying to interview the people outside, a 28-year-old woman came outside. Officers say she’d been stabbed multiple times, including a deep cut on her side.

Medics arrived to treat her, but she passed out and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Before she passed out, police say the woman identified the suspect as someone who was still inside the apartment, and added there were children in there as well.

Officers went inside and verified that the children were safe and that no one else was hurt.

They found their suspect in a bedroom and arrested her for assault.
