Woman dies in Lynnwood house fire

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — One woman has died after a fire fully engulfed a home in Lynnwood on Sunday afternoon.

Just after noon, South County Fire crews responded to a fully-involved house fire in Lynnwood’s Alder Ridge neighborhood. According to firefighters, areas of the house were collapsed or at risk of collapsing, which made it hard for them to go in and search for occupants.

A spokesperson with South County Fire reports that at least two occupants were inside the home, a woman who sadly died, and a man who was treated for smoke inhalation on the scene and would not accept transportation to the hospital.

It is unknown how many people lived in the home, but South County Fire doesn’t believe any pets were injured at this time.

The house is likely a total loss, according to South County Fire, and the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating the cause.
