SEATTLE — Police are looking for a driver who hit a woman in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood and left her to die in the street.
At around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Seattle police officers were on patrol when they heard a crash. Officers went to the intersection of Fourth Avenue South and South Lander Street, where they found a woman in the road who would not wake up, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Officers gave the woman medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and declared the 40-year-old dead.
Police searched the area for the car believed to have hit the woman, but it was not found.
On Monday, SPD announced it obtained surveillance images of the suspect’s car, described as a white 2018 to 2023 Dodge Charger with a black racing stripe. It has extensive damage to its hood, grille and front bumper near the passenger-side headlight.
It was last seen speeding away from the crash scene, traveling north on Fourth Avenue South and possibly eastbound on South Holgate Street.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Department Traffic Collisions Investigations Squad at 206-684-8923.
