A woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a collision involving multiple vehicles on southbound I-5 near Federal Way. The collision blocked multiple lanes.
One vehicle was traveling southbound in the left lane, when it lost control and struck the metal barrier on the front right side of the car. The female passenger, 68, was trapped inside the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. When she was removed from the car, medics pronounced her dead.
The male driver. 68, was not injured and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
No impairment is suspected, according to a state patrol PIO. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
